Darned. After 2 years of running the @AGU_MRP section nearly entirely remotely, I was happy fly to Washington DC for the Council @theAGU at the end of the week. Covid decided otherwise...

Example of what is wrong with science publishers? Here is one: https://t.co/GozIdBoZu2. Editor is the author. Journal dedicated to water chemistry publishing papers about the fate of the universe. Indexed with @clarivate, obviously. @SpringerNature were is your ethics gone?
@SellaTheChemist @ucl @UCLChemistry Sad news in fact. Paul was very inspiring and a true leader in many fields. My condolences to his friends and family.

@seismodoc @derek_schutt OSPA platform was too late at opening so there was no time to fill judges slots before the meeting. Big screw up from AGU. Second, the student/senior ratio was very high this year. Not so many senior scientists available to judge.
@kotranc @stein_science Well, my hotel was in the French quarter: AGU is a minor problem for Covid case in New Orleans. So many parties, so many weddings, and not a single mask.
My 3 years old son learned how to control the smart radio with his voice. Can't listen to the news anymore.

@derek_schutt The live MRP session seems to be going well. Questions from the remote audience are coming in.
Problem was fixed. Q&A session seems to be working very well. Questions from the both the room and remote participants to both the room and remote participants ! Go #AGU21 and @AGU_MRP !
RT @AGU_MRP: First MRP session of #AGU21 is underway here in NOLA! https://t.co/qx6mAkEcyd
First in person presentation. It looks like remote participants can not hear the sound.
I wonder what is happening in the chat. We can not see it when we are the room.
First experience of a mixed virtual / online oral session at the #AGU21 meeting. Reasonable number of people in the physical room. All speakers up to now have been from the virtual attendance!

@LDR_Strasbourg @jameshickey77 Government employees in France owe something like 1660 hours of work per year. Univ positions are 50pc teaching 50 pc research - 830 hours of work time for teaching duties. 192 hours in class per year means that you are counted 4 hours of work for every hour you teach.
