@FrontiersIn @LeidenMadtrics @cwtsleiden Well, I have issues with the reviewers search algorithm. There is no AI, but simply keywords matches. There are goods in the Frontiers review system, but the ´AI search for reviewers can is working against the journal reputation.

Last week, I was on an experiment at the @EuropeanXFEL. Came back to Lille, help my student to turn in his PhD manuscript, tough 8 hours of undergraduate classes, and I am already on a 7 hours train journey to teach in a “summer” school. Maybe I should learn how to say no!

You need technicians, 1 per room, to ensure things run smoothly. This adds a huge overhead to the cost on an in-person only or online-only event.

@MonniauxD La review, sous forme d'échanges entre reviewer et auteur avec révélation des identités à l'acceptation est intéressant. Si le papier n'est pas bon, le reviewer rejette et on n'en parle plus. Sinon, le modèle permet d'améliorer les papiers efficacement et limite les abus.

@MonniauxD Tout dépend du domaine. Contrairement à MDPI, Frontiers a des éditeurs scientifiques qui ont un vrai rôle. Le système n'est pas parfait et leurs mails automatiques sont insupportables mais le filtre éditorial est plus sévère que MDPI.
