2024 ICOTOM Presentation - Phase transformation and deformation microstructures in Earth's mantle minerals up to 110 GPa and 2000 K using multigrain X-ray crystallography

This presentation was given at ICOTOM in Metz in July 2024. It is a good summary of how multigrain crystallography can be used to study phase transformation and deformation micrstructures in mantle minerals. This work was part of the ANR-DFG project TIMEleSS, a bilateral grant, from the ANR in France and the DFG in Germany, led by Sébastien Merkel at the Université de Lille, Christine Thomas and Carmen Sanchez-Valle from the Westfälische Wilhelms-Universität, Münster, and Sergio Speziale from the Deutsche GeoForschungsZentrum, Potsdam. You can also download the full slides in PDF.

Feel free to re-use the slides and figures, but please acknowledge the original source, i.e. S. Merkel, Univ. Lille / TIMEleSS Project, when nothing is written, or the original source when there is information on the slide.
